We will discuss how to do market research to see if your business idea is feasible, financial analysis, common startup Q&A, & how to prepare a business plan.

Presenter: Dr. Samantha Lankford, Director of the Center for Emerging Technology and Entrepreneurial Studies (CETES) and a small business advisor for the Oklahoma Small Business Development Center (OKSBDC).

Dr. Samantha Lankford brings more than 17 years of management, consulting, and leadership experience in university, corporate, and small business environments. She specializes in Entrepreneurism and Leadership Development. Dr. Lankford assumed the position of Director of Emerging Technology and Entrepreneurial Studies at Cameron University in February of 2017. Dr. Lankford began her career as a college professor, teaching a broad range of courses. She developed an ambitious new curriculum in entrepreneurship and business writing at UNC-Chapel Hill, Penn State, and for Yale’s summer programming. Thereafter, Dr. Lankford acted as Director of Innovation at Mercer University, Georgia’s oldest private university. At Mercer, Dr. Lankford built and launched an innovation center to house a newly developed startup incubation program to stimulate economic development in Middle Georgia. Dr. Lankford also draws upon a wealth of global and cross-industry business experience, including having worked at Google and in executive development. She runs her own consulting company and has coached clients, worked, and traveled extensively around the world. Dr. Lankford has a PhD and is finishing her MBA at Colorado State.
