Fraud Awareness Week is November 11-17. Small businesses are often targets of fraud, losses are generally substantially higher, and the duration until discovery is much longer. Each year businesses lose an estimated 5% of their annual revenue due to fraud. Oftentimes, the result is closure of the business. There are some basic steps you can take immediately to lessen your vulnerability to fraud. Scammers often combine new technology with old tricks to get people to send money or give out personal information. The objective of this workshop is to discuss 10 easy things you can do to reduce your risk. We will talk about technology, employee, and wire fraud as well as current threats affecting businesses today.
